STOCK BIRDS

We have four basic families of stock birds   which we have been developing over a number of years, it has taken time, money   and   a lot of patience to get to the point we are now at in the stock loft with a team that are producing many   winners for other Fanciers aswell as ourselves. We only introduce one or two Top Class birds every year and   each year one or two youngsters are retained for stock if they mature to the calibre we require.

We do not keep hundreds of stock birds and never fill nestboxes to   capacity preferring top class quality pairs of pigeons rather than filling boxes and breeding off inferior pigeons. Each section of the stock loft has a   large avairy which the stock birds have access to   every day of the year.   We believe stock birds are the future and unlike many Fanciers we treat our Stock   birds   with the same dedication and commitment   as we do our race birds with   no short cuts or expense spared.

We never blind treat any of our birds with antibiotics ( crystal ball therapy) preffering to have them regularly tested by Gary Spavin of Lancaster. On the rare occasions anything untoward   is detected the pigeon   is treated individually.   By using Garys herbal teas and tinctures   antibiotics can be often avoided retaining the sporting ability of the pigeon. We have found with continuous use of these herbal products   the pigeons immune system becomes stronger in each generation which in turn gives the youngsters an excellent start in life.

             This photograph of The Fed Winner is testemant to the benefits of the herbal system we use on all our stock and racers. The photograph was taken in January 2008 when The Fed Winner was 17 years old and he is in such good condition after being on Gary Spavins Herbal Teas and Tinctures for a number of years he looks much younger.
